Cavern Bargain Makes One Wonder
If the recent real estate unrest has made some developers want to go underground, well, here’s their chance: Wonderland Cave in Bella Vista is still on the market.
Do $300-per-SF condominiums make you feel a bit apprehensive? Well this baby’s a song for $675,000. And at about 1 million SF, that works out to be less than $1.50 per.
Of course, there isn’t a parking garage or any breathtaking views of downtown Fayetteville or Old Main. In fact, at 130 feet underground, there aren’t any views at all in the former nightclub.
But think of the history. The cave was rumored to be a James Gang hideout in the late 1800s. It was swinging joint for big bands in the ’30s and ’40s and was commandeered by the feds in the ’60s for use as a fallout shelter in the event of a nuclear war.
We can see it now… “Come beat the heat with a cold drink in beautiful, historic Wonderland Cave. After all, it was good enough for a century’s worth of crooks, crooners and politicians, so come on down.”
Downum Realty Group is the listing agent on the property.
Of course, if terra firma is more what you’re in the market for, there’s still plenty available throughout Northwest Arkansas.
Downum Realty is also offering aboveground commercial property along Interstate 540 in Rogers, Lowell and Springdale.
Five million will buy 5 acres at 3075 W. Pleasant Grove Road in Rogers. For $10.07 million, you could own 38.56 acres in Springdale, or for $14 million, 32 acres near I-540 at Highway 264 and Goad Springs Road.
