Business Professor Named Editor-in-Chief

A University of Arkansas Walton College of Business professor has been named the new editor-in-chief of The International Journal of Logistics Management.

Matthew Waller, a professor in the marketing and logistics department of the College of Business, joined the UA in 1994 and teaches logistics and supply chain management.

Thomas Jensen, chair of the marketing and logistics department and the Wal-Mart lecturer in retailing, said Waller’s recent research in China and experience with supply chain systems and business will prove beneficial in his new position at the journal.

“Matt Waller is an outstanding scholar in logistics,” Jensen said in a press release. “His appointment as the editor exemplifies the respect his peers have for his research and judgment.”

Waller received a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Missouri and a master’s of science and doctorate degrees from Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on replenishment, forecasting and consumer products supply chain management. He currently holds the Oren Harris Chair in Logistics.

The International Journal of Logistics is published three times a year and focuses its content on the application of logistics to corporate strategy and the achievement of competitive advantage.
