Goodman Pulls Out Of Clear Channel
Dean Goodman is pulling out as owner of four local radio stations. Goodman’s GoodRadio.TV LLC purchased 180 stations in 36 markets from Clear Channel Communications Inc. of San Antonio for around $450 million in May.
Part of the purchase included around $60 million for local stations KKIX-FM, 103.9, KIGL-FM, 93.3, KEZA-FM 107.9 and KMXF-FM, 101.9.
Goodman will retain ownership of the 22 stations he purchased in Iowa and Missouri. His financial backers, American Securities Capital Partners will own all the stations previously owned by Clear Channel.
“I’m flipping out of the Clear Channel portion of the company,” Goodman told industry publication RadioInk, who reported the news Aug. 21. “But everything is amicable, we’re all happy.”
Connoisseur Media CEO Jeff Warsaw will run the American Securities group.
Clear Channel sold a total of 362 stations in 72 markets for $730 million and all were outside the top 100 markets in the nation. At No. 135, the Northwest Arkansas market stations are some of the largest acquired by American Securities.
