Krushiker Building Candlewood Suites

Hotelier Narry Krushiker is developing a new extended stay hotel in Fort Smith. Candlewood Suites, an InterContinental Hotels Group brand, will feature 87 suite-style rooms with kitchenettes, a pool and pool house, an exercise center and a pavilion for events.

The hotel will be located at 7501 Madison Ave., near the entrance to the Fort Smith Municipal Airport.

Richard Humiston, of Richard Humiston Architect PA, is the architect for the $3 million project. 

Burrows and Associates Engineering Consultants Ltd. of Fort Smith is handling mechanical, electrical and plumbing for the project.

Mickle Wagner Coleman Inc. of Fort Smith is taking on civil engineering work, and Schmalz Engineering Inc. of Little Rock is the project’s structural engineer.

H&S Construction of Fort Smith is the general contractor for the project, which recently broke ground and is scheduled for completion in June 2008.
