The Catfish Hole No. 2 in Alma will be moving to a better location with a bigger building by the fall if construction goes according to plan.
Dirt work is under way at 24 Collum Lane in Alma fronting the intersection of Interstates 540 and 40 on the north side. The new location is around five miles south of the current location on U.S. Highway 71.
Cooper Architects of Fayetteville designed the building, which will be around 7,200 SF. The new Catfish Hole will be more than twice the size of the current restaurant, which has a seating capacity of 173.
Wear Construction Management of Fort Smith is the general contractor for the project.
