Woodrell Named Sparks New CEO

The Sparks Health System Board of Trustees and Quorum Health Resources recently announced the hiring of Fredrick D. “Ted” Woodrell as its new CEO, effective April 18.
Woodrell is from Leeburg, Fla., and is the former associate vice chancellor for Integrated Health Systems at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. He replaced John Guest, who was CEO since December of 2004 and was the first to serve under the QHR five-year contract.
Woodrell has more than 25 years of experience in health care administration. During his tenure at UMMC, the institution experience unprecedented growth with the addition of four new hospitals and expansion of its clinical services.
