March Home Sales Down 21 Percent

Home sales in Benton and Washington counties for the month of March dropped 22 percent when compared to last March.
Data is compiled monthly by the Arkansas Realtors Association and includes only properties reported to participating multiple listing services.
Benton County sold 313 homes, a 25.48 percent drop from the 420 sold in March of 2006. Washington County sold 230 homes, down 16.67 percent from the 276 sold last March.
So after two months of trending upward, year-to-date statistics are now down as well when compared to 2006, the second best year for sales since 2001.
Benton County sold 845 homes through March, down 20.43 percent from the 1,062 homes sold during the same period a year ago. Washington County’s year-to-date sales are down 6.48 percent, from 648 last year to 606 this year.
