Harding University’s Northwest Arkansas Professional Center will be expanding as student enrollment continues to increase.
Cecil Boothe, the center’s director, said the facility will expand from 6,000 SF to 12,000 SF, completely occupying the second floor of its Bentonville location. More space will allow the university to increase the number of classrooms to eight.
Since opening in November 2005, enrollment is nearing a 200 percent increase from 111 to 300.
This fall, the center will offer MBA programs, comprising 36 credit hours, or 42 hours for those with concentrations.
The graduate level tuition is $455 per hour, but $294.50 for those currently teaching.
Harding recently was given approval to offer a doctor of education program. It focuses on educational leadership for kindergarten through Grade 12 and higher education.
The university also has an agreement with Northwest Arkansas Community College that allows a smooth transfer of credits for both early and middle childhood education. Students can attend NWACC for two years and complete the program at Harding in the remaining two years.
Undergraduate tuition is $375 per hour, and $282 for teachers.
Harding University is a private, Christian liberal arts institution with its main campus in Searcy.
