Gray Publishes Bilingual Magazine

Ann Gray, owner of Gray & Associates of Bella Vista, began publishing Adelante Arkansas, a monthly bilingual magazine, in January.
The publication duplicates each article — either on the same page or on opposing pages — in Spanish and English.
Editorially, the magazine focuses on education, social events, food, family and entrepreneurs, Gray said.
The company is printing 5,000 copies of the magazine, which are then distributed through its advertisers’ locations, mostly in Northwest Arkansas. About 1,500 issues are being sent to central Arkansas, she said. Copies are free to readers.
“I think the main goal for starting this magazine is to help bridge the cultural understanding a little,” Gray said. “We’d also like for it be a resource for businesses to reach the Hispanic market.”
Gray noted there are cultural nuances related to reaching Hispanic readers and that direct translation from English often misses the mark.
Gray & Associates is not related to Gray Matters LLC of Springdale, which publishes the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal.
