KHOG-TV Gets Sports Scoop

We absolutely loved the fact that KHOG-TV got its first substantial sports scoop in years, but we absolutely loathe the way they kept pumping it.
KHOG was the first to report (outside of Internet message boards) Frank Broyles’ retirement. It followed with reminders of “the first to bring you” throughout Feb. 16, including at least four repeats during the 6 p.m. newscast alone.
Self-promotions in the form of commercials followed through the weekend.
It may have been the most relevant, yet wildly speculated scoop in Hogs sports history, but we think the station should have pared back its shameless self promotion.
