Kids Book Turns Profit

Even though turning a profit “wasn’t her thing” when writing a children’s book, Bentonville author Yvonne Stewart has raked in just under $25,000 on sales of it since 2004.
“Ed the Elephant, a Guide to Playing it Safe” is a 12-page “coloring activity” book that teaches kids what to do if they get lost or are approached by a stranger, among other things.
“Like an elephant, Ed’s kids never forget,” Stewart said. “And with a little help, neither will our kids.”
The book was published by Dalmation Press of Franklin, Tenn. It retails for $1.97 at Wal-Mart stores all over the country and a DVD also is available for $9.95.
