Brett Hash of Re/Max Associates of Fayetteville is working to better Cave Springs. Hash, and six other developers, are going to build an $8 million STEP sewer system, which upon completion will be given to the city. Currently, waste in Cave Springs is only handled by individual septic systems.
The sewage system will cover 9 residential subdivisions and one light commercial development. Water treatment will be done at The Creeks golf course. Subsequent water will then dissipate through 800,000 feet of drip line under the golf course and evaporate.
The system will be able to handle 412,000 gallons of effluent per day.
Hash said going green is the rage these days, and he strongly supports it. All the waste in Cave Springs will stay in Cave Springs.
“You don’t dump your waste in a creek, which dumps it into a river, which carries it to a neighboring state,” Hash said.
