Boston Mountain Grille Brings Ozarks to Diners (Business Lunch)
Boston Mountain Grille
3251 N. College Ave. Fayetteville
Our reviewers may not have been in the heart of the Boston Mountains, but the Boston Mountain Grille sure brought the Ozarks to them.
Pulling into the parking lot, our three diners grabbed the last parking spots available during the lunch rush. Inside, they enjoyed the Northwest Arkansas flair with pictures and signs relating to the area, complete with a faux Ozarks waterfall.
The family-owned restaurant has paired up with several other area businesses — Ozark Mountain Smokehouse, Stone Mill Bread & Flour Co., and Rick’s Bakery — to create a menu full of local fare.
One reviewer had a Back Pack Club Wrap ($7), consisting of grilled chicken, bacon bits, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and “three cheese” Ranch wrapped in a flour jalapeño cheese tortilla.
She said the wrap was filling, and the combination had a great flavor, especially dipped in a side of ranch. Her only complaint was that a bit too much bacon overpowered the chicken. For a side, she opted for coleslaw, which she said had just the right amount of vinegar.
Our second reviewer had a Boston Mountain Hikers Club ($8), a triple-decker sandwich on toasted marble rye that’s filled with turkey, ham and smoked pepper bacon, with a side of french fries.
The reviewer, a man with a mighty mountainous appetite, said the lean slab of bacon made the sandwich one of the best clubs he’s had in years.
A third reviewer picked a bacon cheeseburger ($7) with a side of fries. He agreed with his brawny comrade: the bacon made the burger something special.
The “Coca-Cola Cake” ($6) immediately caught the eye of one reviewer, and each of the diners sampled the owner’s wonderful recipe made especially for the BMG by Rick’s Bakery in Fayetteville.
Our reviewers enjoyed BMG immensely. However, the service was a little slow and left the trio a little dry in the mouth waiting for drinks.
