Schlotzsky?s to Reopen in Same Fayetteville Spot

Jim Barnes and Greg Newman bought the franchise rights to reopen the Schlotzsky’s Deli in Fayetteville in its same location at 2548 N. College Ave. It’s slated to open in November.

The deli, previously owned by another Schlotzsky’s franchisee, last paid taxes of $24,000 for food sales in January 2005, but Barnes said he wasn’t sure of the exact date it closed.

Barnes said he hasn’t worked out a budget for the remodeling but said it won’t be very much, mostly just upgrading equipment. The 2,400-SF restaurant will employ about 20 people.

Barnes and Newman, who own Midwest Sandwich Co. of Fayetteville, reopened the Rogers Schlotzsky’s location at 609 S. 8th St. in January.

Barnes said his plan is to have more franchises throughout Northwest Arkansas.
