Employee Alledgedly Embezzles From Dixie Development

An item on the Fayetteville Police Department blotter recently caught our attention.

On July 28, a caller from Dixie Development and Management reported that an employee had embezzled more than $80,000.

Ben Israel wouldn’t talk about specifics, but he said all the evidence had been turned over to police for investigation and he expects an arrest soon.

Israel had a bump with embezzlement back in 1988, he said, but he didn’t discuss details.

“It’s almost always someone you trust,” he said. “Someone you’d least expect.”
