AAF Ad Confuses Homeless Issues with Car Sales (Outtakes Opinion)
We’ve been confused by Springdale-based Automatic Auto Finance’s television ads.
The most recent spot AAF has been airing on cable shows a homeless man warming his hands over a fire. A man in a gorilla suit wearing an AAF T-shirt walks up and hands the man a sandwich. The homeless man is grateful. Then out of nowhere, the banana-suited man enters, rips the sandwich out of the homeless man’s hands and tosses it. Then the gorilla chases the banana. The commercial ends.
No car or financing is mentioned. We’re not sure what customers AAF is pursuing, car buyers or grocery-shoppers.
And, frankly, the whole thing seems to be in bad taste.
