Applebee?s Slated for Springdale
Apple Arkansas Inc. will open an Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar in Springdale. The restaurant is scheduled to open in August.
Construction began in April on the 5,500-SF restaurant, said Barry Beam, director of operations for franchise-owner Apple Arkansas, which is based in Texarkana, Texas. It will seat about 188 diners.
It is the second Applebee’s in Northwest Arkansas for the company with the other located in Fayetteville, Beam said. It’s the 12th restaurant for Apple Arkansas in the state. The company also owns five El Chico Café restaurants in Arkansas.
David Sprinkle, who is the general manager at the Fayetteville Applebee’s, will be the general manager for the Springdale location. The restaurant, located at 3953 W. Sunset Ave., will have 120 to 130 employees, Beam said.
Applebee’s menu consists of steaks, salads, baby back ribs, wraps and a Weight Watchers section. Prices range from $7 for a chicken fajita “rollup” to $15 for the honey barbecue baby back ribs, according to its Web site. The restaurant also serves a variety of mixed drinks, beer and wine.
In 2005, the Fayetteville Applebee’s had $1.7 million in food, beer and wine sales, according to the city’s tax records.
