Pinnacle Hills Cross Closes In On Record

If you’ve driven past the New Hope Road exit on Interstate 540 in Rogers lately, you probably saw the new cross jutting into the skyline at the construction site of the Church at Pinnacle Hills.
We’re told that the 140-foot-tall cross is the first and smallest of three to be erected on the site. A source at the Rogers Planning Department confirmed that plans call for the tallest cross at the site to be 175 feet. That’s just short of the world’s record, which is allegedly held by a 190-foot-tall cross in Groom, Texas.
The largest cross at the Church at Pinnacle Hills will be eight stories taller than the nearby Embassy Suites hotel.
The Christ of the Ozarks statue in Eureka Springs is seven stories high and weighs more than 2 million pounds. It was completed in 1966.
