Grand Crowne Taps SPMI as HR Outsource
Grand Crowne Resorts in Branson, Mo., hired Southern Personnel Management Inc. of Van Buren as its human resources outsourcing vendor, according to a press release. The agreement became effective Jan. 1.
Grand Crowne Resorts is the world’s only triple-share condominiums, according to its Web site, and has about 1,200 employees.
Clifford Lyon and his brother John Lyon started SPMI in 1996. They also own a CPA firm, Hubbs Lyon and Co. in Van Buren.
SPMI does a major part of their work in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, but also provide other services to 49 states, said Clifford Lyon, who is SPMI’s president and CEO. Their services include payroll administration, loss prevention, payroll checks and taxes, and job restructuring and strategic needs, among others.
SPMI has been hired by more than 200 businesses ranging from Fortune 500 companies — like Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Rheem Manufacturing Co. — to small businesses. It also services more than 6,000 employees in payroll administration and human resources consulting.
“Last year, we had 20 to 30 percent growth,” Clifford Lyon said. “We handle a lot of cash, over $75 million in cash.”
Clifford Lyon said a majority of their work is human resources outsourcing, but for larger companies like Wal-Mart, they provide Occupational Safety and Health Administration training and outreach programs.
