Downum Starts New Realty Firm

Bob Downum, the former principal broker/co-owner of Taylor & Associates Real Estate Co. of Springdale, started a new real estate company on Jan. 27.
Downum and wife Sandra Downum are owners of Downum Realty Group.
A total of eight of the 13 agents from Taylor & Associates moved to Downum Realty Group, which has office space on Sunset Avenue in Springdale. Downum had been a partner in Taylor & Associates for about 10 years. Sandra Downum has been in the real estate business for 14 years.
Vicki J. Banks, who co-owned Taylor & Associates with Downum, remains an owner/broker at Taylor & Associates.
“We want to be really progressive in the marketplace and we want to give people more opportunities,” Downum said.
He said the firm will be offering the seller different commission options, depending on the level of service needed. Downum also said agents will be offered different commission break opportunities.
In addition to eight agents, the firm employs two office personnel and had startup costs of about $50,000, Downum said. About 65 percent of the firm’s listings are residential and about 35 percent are commercial, he said.
