The Little Rock-based law firm Gill Elrod Ragon Owen & Sherman PA opened a Bentonville satellite office in mid-February. The office, about 1,500-SF located at Fountain Plaza, is headed by partner Derrick Davidson.

Davidson, a defense lawyer and Rogers native, said he is the only partner at the office now, but he hopes to have at least two others working out of the satellite by the end of the year.

Partner Charles Owen said the firm hopes to grow the satellite to six to 10 lawyers within the next five years.

Gill Elrod Ragon was founded in 1986 and works primarily in business law, including corporate and municipal finance, commercial law and real estate development. The firm closed about $185 million in transactions in 2003, including $6.8 million in tax-exempt water revenue bonds in Madison County, a $12 million line of commercial credit and a $7.3 million tax-exempt lease-purchase of energy conservation measures to the Florida Department of Corrections.

Davidson said the firm’s new office will focus on banks, real estate companies and developers because of its strengths in those areas.
