Zaxby?s Plans 11 Area Restaurants
David Jackson and Brian Driggers plan to open 11 Zaxby’s restaurants in Northwest Arkansas.
The franchisees moved from Georgia and opened their first Zaxby’s on Jan. 9 in Bentonville.
They plan to begin construction in about a month on their second Zaxby’s, which will be on Sixth Street in Fayetteville. That one is slated to be open this summer. After that, they plan to open a Springdale store.
“We did research on different markets, and we were blown away by the growth and development here,” Jackson said.
Jackson and Driggers previously worked for about seven years each in Zaxby’s corporate-owned stores. The chain, based in Athens, Ga., has about 320 Zaxby’s open, primarily throughout the southeastern U.S. Zaxby’s, which was founded by Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley, plans to have 1,000 restaurants open by 2010.
The restaurants serve chicken fingers, buffalo wings, sandwiches and salads. The 89-seat Bentonville location also has a drive-through lane.
