McQueen Takes AWA Helm
Athletic World Advertising has a new president at its helm. Mark McQueen was promoted from vice president and chief operating officer to president of the company, said Gregg Ogden, chairman and CEO of the company.
McQueen, who took over day-to-day operations Jan. 9, will also get a small portion of AWA stock, although Ogden wouldn’t say just how much. Ogden did own 100 percent of the company.
McQueen has been with AWA for nine years.
Ogden said he has plans to “explore other opportunities” inside and outside AWA. Some of those plans for the company will be an expansion of its Tulsa operation, adding office space and 100 positions this year. And he’s also scouting for a location in Springfield, Mo., that will open this year.
The company’s customer base increased 250 percent and an overall sales increase of 15 percent for 2005, Ogden said.
