Jennifer Cook has left her job as deputy city editor at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette to be the Bentonville metro editor for Springdale-based The Morning News. Cook’s first day at the new job was Jan. 23.

Cook worked as a reporter for The Morning News from 1995 to 1997, when she left for the D-G. She was a reporter for the D-G’s Northwest Arkansas edition until 1999, when she became assistant city editor. Cook was promoted to deputy city editor in 2002.

Cook replaced Debbie Miller, who is leaving the Bentonville editing job to be a feature writer for The Morning News, said Rusty Turner, the newspaper’s editor.

The Morning News opened its Bentonville office in 2000 when it began publishing four zoned editions of the newspaper.

The Morning News is owned by Stephens Media Group of Little Rock. The D-G is owned by Wehco Media Group of Little Rock.
