A CD filled with 15 songs by 15 local bands and musicians has raised slightly less than $5,000 for Fayetteville-based LifeSource International since it went on sale this fall.

LifeSource is a nonprofit organization that takes a “holistic” approach to helping families in stress deal with problems, meaning it provides services for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being, as well as some economic support.

The CD, called “Sounds Made in the Mountains,” contains music by Jed Clampit, Minkus Finkus, The Cate Brothers and Wildwood, among others.

Production of “Sounds” was sponsored by First Security Bank, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and four Clear Channel Communications radio stations. It was edited and compiled free-of-charge by The Listen Laboratory of Fayetteville.

The CD, which is on its second order of 1,000 copies, is available at Northwest Arkansas area First Security Bank locations for $5 each.
