Construction delays at the Fayetteville train depot have pushed the building’s renovation and reopening back until February, said Rexanne Mansfield.

The Mansfield family planned to open a Haagen-Dazs ice cream shop and a Gloria Jean’s coffee shop in the depot by the end of summer.

Rexanne, Stephen and Kenneth Mansfield have owned the Gloria Jean’s coffee shop in Fayetteville’s Northwest Arkansas Mall for a year and a half. They opened Arkansas’ first Haagen-Dazs store in the mall last summer.

Construction began in late October to renovate the front 2,367 SF of the depot on Dickson Street to accommodate the coffee shop and ice cream store. A 2,366-SF freight building behind the depot will be leased to a tenant, Rexanne Mansfield said.

Stephen and Rexanne Mansfield, along with developer Greg House, bought the 108-year-old depot earlier this year from Shuler Development Corp. for $2 million.
