Record?s Front Page Cracks Second Set of Smiles (Outtakes Opinion)
We think the folks at the Daily Record must have had some fun on Halloween day. On Nov. 1, another front-page story, just below the fold, was headlined: “Weekend deer-death case ruled justifiable homicide.”
We were chuckling out loud before we got into the meat of the tale, which went on to describe how Bentonville resident Wayne Goldsberry killed a five-point white-tailed deer that broke into his house.
The man “managed to get a grip on the animal, which allowed him to break the deer’s neck,” the story read.
The paper reported that Benton County Sheriff Keith Ferguson believed it was a justifiable homicide and that no charges will be filed.
