Joe and Jennifer Utsch opened Joe’s Bistro in August in Fayetteville’s Fiesta Square shopping center.

For 13 years, the 2,400-SF space housed Belvedeer’s fine dining restaurant. Todd and Nickii Golden sold Belvedeer’s in 2003 to Dennis and Darlene Charlebois, who also own Flapjacks Restaurant in Springdale. They renovated the Fayetteville restaurant and reopened it in June as Magnolia Grill, serving Southern dishes instead of Italian. Two months later, they sold it to the Utshes.

Joe Utsch has taken the restaurant back to its Italian roots, with a bit of French thrown in. Utsch served for the past eight years as head chef at The Pesto Café in Fayetteville.

Entrée prices average about $10 for lunch and $12 to $15 for dinner. Standout items on the menu include a pancetta-wrapped pork tenderloin ($21) for dinner and eggplant rolatini ($9) at lunch time.

Joe’s Bistro, at 3061 N. College Ave., is open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. The restaurant, which has a full bar, can seat about 90, including 20 in a private dining room.
