The number of customers shopping at Chick-Fil-A in Fayetteville’s Northwest Village shopping center jumped from about 1,400 per day to 1,800 after renovations were completed on Aug. 11. Sales increased by about 8 percent as a result in the weeks following the renovation.

The work began on June 3, and the restaurant was closed for three and a half weeks during that period.

The renovation added 1,400 SF of space, which made room for an extra 50 seats in the dining room. That brought the total number of seats inside to 130, with another 24 on the patio.

The renovations also doubled the size of the restaurant’s kitchen.

Jim Bryant, owner-operator of the Chick-Fil-A franchise said the restaurant has had double-digit sales increases for the past seven consecutive years. He said sales were up 12 percent just before the renovation and have been up 20 percent since then (when compared to last year).

The Chick-Fil-A in Northwest Village ranked No. 7 in sales for the city in the first half of 2005 with $1.36 million. That was a 10.9 percent increase over the same six-month period of the previous year.

Bryant noted that Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sundays.

“We do more business in six days a week than our competitors do in seven,” he said.
