Kool & The Gang to Play Christmas Party

Break out the Cristal champagne.

Last year’s Christmas party thrown by The Barber Group in Springdale was “off the hook” (for the average Business Journal reader, that means it was really something). This year’s party is set for Dec. 2, and it already has the makings of the social event of the season.

TBG has hired funk and R&B icons Kool & The Gang to play at this year’s party. The musical group is famous for hits such as “Celebration,” “Ladies’ Night,” and “Jungle Boogie.”

A location for the event is still being negotiated, but about 2,000 people will be invited. That’s double last year’s throng.

Last December, the party was held in developer Gary Combs’ airplane hangar at Springdale Municipal Airport where more than 1 million Christmas lights were strung for the party.
