Aaron Peters, sports anchor for KHBS/KHOG, Channels 40/29, resigned in early July. He had been with the station for five years including serving as sports anchor for the last two.

Jim Prestwood, general manager of KHBS/KHOG, said the station has received resume tapes from more than 40 perspective sports anchors. Prestwood said he hoped to have a new sports anchor on the job sometime in August.

In the meantime, sports reporters Rusty Jackson and Derek Burleson have been splitting the anchoring duties.
