For the second year in a row, the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s list of Largest Executive Recruiters had a total of seven entries.

This year’s list is less one company that merged with Cameron Smith & Associates of Bentonville and includes one recruiter who was missed last year.

The number of people employed by executive recruiters grew 26 percent from a reported 57 in 2004 to 72 this year.

Cameron Smith, principle of CSA, said he added four people through two acquisitions in the year. He purchased Edit Type of Fayetteville and The Natishan Group of Washburn, Mo., a recruiter who was on last year’s list.

He plans to hire at least two more employees within the next six months.

Smith said the market for his services over the last five years “has been ridiculous.” CSA will close on about 3 million individual fees this year and Smith recently placed an ex-Wal-Mart Stores Inc. executive with Harrods of London as that company’s chief operating officer.

HR Factor of Bentonville, owned by Don Marr, doubled its staff over the course of the year.
