Amid the flurry of bank and infrastructure announcements in the two-county area, the Bank of Arkansas N.A. has made some subtle changes to its location strategy.

Earlier this year, it closed the doors of a location at 11 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville, which it has since sold to Searcy-based First Security Bank.

FSB plans to re-open the location late this year and has already received approval from the Arkansas State Bank Department.

Bank of Arkansas also recently purchased a tract of land on the northern side of Rainbow Curve on Walton Boulevard in Bentonville, which will eventually replace its Rogers office. Jeff Dunn, Bank of Arkansas’ president and CEO, said it should open by spring of 2006.

The bank operates a loan-production office on Walton Boulevard just a few miles from the new spot, and Dunn said it’s unclear if it will remain open or not.
