David Dallas, 39, grew up in Wynne and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1987 with a degree in finance and banking. He became a bond salesman after college for U.S. Associates of Little Rock.

Dallas moved back to Wynne in 1988 and worked for Cross County as the director of economic development until 1992. A year later, Dallas began working as an appraiser for Lee Stephens & Associates in Little Rock and the Pulaski County Assessors office.

Dallas moved to Bentonville in 1996 and worked for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in the real estate division until 2000. He then moved to Texas for a year and worked in a similar capacity for Gap Inc. in Dallas.

Dallas Real Estate Services Inc. of Fayetteville was born in January 2002, and Dallas still serves as its owner. The five-employee firm specializes in brokerage, residential and commercial real estate, and some residential and commercial development appraisals.

Brandon Barber is a partner in the brokerage business. Dallas said the best part of his job is having the flexibility to do the work he enjoys.

He said his father and stepfather, both in commercial construction for more than 30 years, greatly influenced his career.
