Rogers native Kelley Shearin, 28, got her real estate license when she was only 20 and soon after received the first-ever “Rookie of the Year” award from the Rogers Board of Realtors. In May, she joined the Shearin Hathaway Group of Rogers where, as executive broker, she will focus her talents solely on the commercial market.

Shearin spent the last eight years working in residential real estate for Shearin & Co. Realtors and since December 1997 as a principal broker for Shearin Harris McHaney Realtors of Rogers. She won the 1996 Realtor of the Year award from the Rogers board, enrolled this year in the certified commercial investment member candidate program and only recently was appointed to the Economic Growth Advisory Board for the city of Rogers.

Shearin, who attended the University of Arkansas, says she spends half of her time listing property and the other half selling it. She enjoys working with potential buyers and trying to come up with different projects she believes would be good investments for clients.

Shearin Hathaway, the area’s first exclusively commercial firm, has been in business since 1996. But Shearin’s father, Jim Shearin, has been in real estate all of her life. She says that gave her a distinct advantage when it came to making real estate her career.

“It’s become a way of life for me,” Shearin says.
