Myers Buys Advertising Plus

Mark Myers, a Van Buren public relations consultant, purchased controlling interest in Advertising Plus Inc. of Fort Smith from Ralph Smith in early May.

Smith will remain a shareholder in the advertising agency and will assume the role of founder and principal. Myers will be chairman and CEO. Both men will be members of the firm’s board of directors.

Advertising Plus, which has 10 employees, has been in business in Fort Smith for more than 16 years. The agency has annual billings between $1 million and $2 million per year, Myers said.

Advertising Plus has won more than 70 Addy awards for its work.

Myers also owns and operates Myers Global Media Group Ltd., which specializes in corporate communications and political consulting and will remain a separate entity from Advertising Plus.

Myers served as Asa Hutchinson’s campaign manager in his successful 1996 bid to be congressman for Arkansas’ Third Congressional District.
