Run Through the Mill

James at the Mill restaurant in Johnson apparently has some debts to settle with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

On April 11, the commissioner of revenues issued a certificate of indebtedness for withholding tax due in the amount of $33,604 for all of 2003.

Miles James is the chef of James at the Mill, famous for its trade-marked Ozark Plateau Cuisine.

Apparently, James at the Mill decided to keep the amount withheld from its employees’ checks that was supposed to go to the state.

Although the state collections department would not comment on the specific case, it did say that the amount requested is based on an estimate for that type of business.
