Killian Snags Bid for 100,000-SF Convention Center

Drivers by the Embassy Suites hotel in Rogers of late might have noticed the Killian Group has posted its sign on the grounds. That’s because sources say the Springfield, Mo., construction firm has been awarded the bid by John Q. Hammons to construct the 100,000-SF convention center, which will be located adjacent to the existing hotel.

Both Hammons and Killian camps remain mum about the bid.

It’s not necessarily a surprise, since the Killian Group has been building projects for Hammons for years, including the Embassy Suites in Rogers and in Albuquerque, N.M., and the $35 million, 8,000-seat minor league AA baseball stadium in Springfield.
