Rhonda Justice, who has worked for seven years at what is now KNWA, left the television station on Dec. 1 to be an anchor at KOAM-TV, the CBS affiliate that covers Joplin, Mo., and Pittsburg, Kan.

“She’s very talented, and we’re sorry to see her go,” said Rob Heverling, news director for KNWA, Northwest Arkansas’ NBC affiliate. “Rhonda has a lot of contacts and is a very investigative street reporter.”

Justice, a Tulsa native, will be one of the main anchors of the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts at KOAM, which is the dominant station in that market. KOAM is available on Cox Cable channel 10 in Benton County. Justice served as an anchor for NBC 24/51 (now KNWA) from 2000 to 2002. She was scheduled to begin work at KOAM on Dec. 8.

“I am absolutely excited about Joplin,” Justice said. “I will miss Northwest Arkansas and all the people I’ve met who have become my friends. But I must put family first, and I know the people close to me understand my decision.”
