The 4th annual Circle of Life Hospice Voyage event that was held on Nov. 6 at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale, has so far raised $116,500, a 25 percent increase over last year’s tallies of about $93,250 said Carol Andrews, business manager of Circle of Life. All of the proceeds from the dinner, dance and auction benefit the $5.2 million capital campaign, which kicked off at the 2002 Voyage event. In-kind services donated totaled about $63,000.

About 875 people attended the event, which had about 75 sponsors. Becky Alston served as the volunteer committee coordinator and Terry Rhoads and Lori Petrino served as co-auction chairs. So far, Circle of Life has achieved more than $4 million of its fundraising goal, which will pay for the construction of a new 27,000-SF facility off Jones Road in Springdale.

The completion of the building in late 2005 will make it the first designated licensed hospice inpatient facility in the area.
