First Security Bank To Open Commercial Customer Branch

First Security Bank has come up with a novel idea to stay competitive in the super-served Northwest Arkansas banking market.

In mid-November, the Searcy-based First Security will open the First Security Business Banking Center to cater to its on-the-run business customers.

Jim Taylor, president of First Security’s Northwest Arkansas operations, said the location will offer everything a commercial customer might need, including commercial lending and cash management. There will even be an Internet kiosk in the lobby.

The office is at the site of a previous First National Bank of Springdale branch at 2500 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. First Security picked up the property in its acquisition of FNB last year. The bank has another location at 2863 W. Sunset Ave. that will continue to serve retail customers.

The building has been closed since April and is undergoing extensive renovations. There will be few if any chairs in the lobby because the intention is to keep customers from waiting, Taylor said.

Regulatory approval has been granted to open the office. There will be an initial staff of about 12 people.

The Business Banking Center will be the bank’s fifth Springdale location.
