Community Bank of North Arkansas officially changed its name to Chambers Bank of North Arkansas on Oct. 1. Signage at the banks is shrouded in temporary coverings that reflect the new moniker and logo.

The bank is owned and operated by Chambers Bancshares Inc. of Danville, which also operates a string of 12 Chambers Bank offices out of Danville. Chambers Bank has $430 million in assets, in seven mid-state counties.

The now renamed Community Bank had $212 million in assets as of June 30, up from $211 million for the same period in 2003. CB of North Arkansas operates seven offices in Benton and Washington counties.

Robert Taylor, president and CEO of CB of North Arkansas, said the bank plans to file an application soon with the Arkansas State Bank Board for a new location in Johnson.

Pending approval, that location will be in Clear Creek Tower One off Interstate 540 north of Inn at the Mill, near the 218-unit Clear Creek Apartments that are being developed by Orion Realty of Fayetteville.
