A group of stylists who worked together in the past came together to form Brazen Studio with the help of owner Angela Sullivan, explained Diane Costlow, manager of the new salon on Maple Street.

Brazen provides full hair service, hair extensions, body waxing, massage and manicures, but they particularly specialize in hair coloring.

Another thing that sets the salon apart from others, Costlow said, is the warm, comfortable atmosphere. The salon has gone out of its way to make the waiting room very inviting and comfortable, she said, adding that furniture has also been placed on the salon’s big front porch.

Brazen has six stylists, a massage therapist and two people who manage the front desk. Costlow said Brazen will likely have a new salon and spa in Fayetteville and may possibly build a new salon. However, she said, the Maple Street location has been great for attracting neighborhood clients.

The salon leases 1,250 SF of space now, but if they build a new facility, Costlow said, they’d like to have 3,000 to 4,000 SF.

Costlow declined to provide the startup costs for Brazen, but she said the salon should be able to make that money back in the first two years. The startup was personally financed by Sullivan.
