Wal-Mart Stores Inc. on June 28 lowered its sales forecast for the month of June citing cool weather and weak Father’s Day sales.

The mile temperatures cooled demand for air conditioners and swimming pool supplies, the Bentonville-based retailer said.

Wal-Mart now expects a 2 percent to 4 percent increase in U.S. same-store sales for June instead of the 4 percent to 6 percent increase that was originally forecast. Same-store sales are sales at stores open at least a year.
