Ozark Cleaners Sold To Arkadelphia Firm

Ozark Cleaners, a Fayetteville institution since 1935, has been sold to Ken and Carol Sanders of SandersCrest Inc. in Arkadelphia. Greg Hays is the former owner of the business with three locations in Fayetteville. Hayes bought the business about 10 years ago from his father, J.O. Hays, upon the elder Hayes’ retirement.
Ken Sanders, who has been in the dry-cleaning business for six years, owns two franchise stores of Comet Cleaners, in Arkadelphia and Hot Springs, in addition to Hometown Cleaners and Clothing Restoration in Hope.
Sanders said he is personally financing the remodeling of most of the Ozark facilities and is refurbishing the existing equipment to “tip top” shape.
Billy Head, the original owner of Ozark, began the business in 1935 before it was sold to Hays in 1962.
