Anticipation always surrounds the list of Hollywood types who are expected to join retail superstars, such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc. executives Lee Scott and Tom Coughlin, on stage at the retailer’s annual shareholders meeting in Fayetteville.

Shareholders and Wal-Mart employees from around the world will descend on Northwest Arkansas from June 2-4 for a variety of shareholders’ week activities. The annual meeting itself is June 4 at Walton Arena on the University of Arkansas campus.

The early word on A-list guests includes musical group 3 Doors Down, country artist Kenny Chesney and country comedian Jeff Foxworthy. Performing on June 3 will be the group Hanson, Osceola’s own Buddy Jewell and Latin American singing sensation Juanes.

Scuttlebutt had it that Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears and Madonna were also set to join 3 Doors Down, but that inquiry elicited only a chuckle from the folks in Bentonville.
