Pending Contract for WayLink
UA Professor Kelvin Wang’s company, WayLink Systems Corp., may have a contract valued at $80,000 with the city of Fayetteville to evaluate streets via its high-tech Digital Highway Data Vehicle. Gary Dumas, director of operations for the city, said the street committee is scheduled to meet the last week of March to review the proposal.
Currently, the city sends people out to eyeball the streets and make recommendations about repairs. Theoretically, the DHDV, which is a gray van outfitted with banks of lights and cameras, will record the streets’ conditions and dump that info into a computer program that will help decision-makers better analyze what repairs to make first. Dumas said it should help the city make more proactive repairs, saving taxpayers money in the future.
WayLink is a client of the Genesis Technology Incubator.
