Hank?s Plans $4M Store in Fayetteville?s CMN
Hank Browne, president of Hank’s Fine Furniture of Sherwood, has bought land in Fayetteville’s CMN Business Park and plans to build a new store there.
Browne said the 40,850-SF furniture store is scheduled to be open by late fall. It will be located on two acres of land immediately to the east of the McDonald’s restaurant at the corner of Joyce Boulevard and Mall Avenue in Fayetteville.
Browne said he will close two area stores this fall — a 20,000-SF store on Fayetteville’s Wedington Drive and the 14,000-SF store in Springdale — and consolidate inventory at the new store. That will leave Hank’s with two other stores in the area, one in Bentonville and one in Siloam Springs.
“There will be a lot more designer-oriented type furniture and a lot more accessories,” Browne said of the new store. “We feel like this will fit the market up there better. It’s the best location left up in Northwest Arkansas. You just have to pay to get it.”
Browne said the entire project, including the real estate, will cost about $4 million.
The proposal is scheduled to go before the Fayetteville Planning Commission on April 12.
Browne started the company in 1981. Hank’s currently has 22 stores, 14 of which are in Arkansas.
