The biggest news at the anticipated Feb. 5 announcement about new happenings at Rogers’ Pinnacle Hills will be The Pinnacle Group’s partnership with a nationally renowned shopping center and mall development company. No one at TPG will divulge who the major player is, but we’re told a thunderstorm of new retail venues is getting ready to rain down on Rogers.

TPG is led by entrepreneurs J.B. Hunt, Tim Graham, Bill Schwyhart and Robert Thornton. An investment holding company with an estimated $100 million in assets, TPG operates more than 20 limited liability companies and holds more than 400 acres of coveted real estate at Rogers’ Interstate 540/New Hope Road interchange.

A recent report said Dillard’s Inc. would consider opening a department store that could anchor TPG’s proposed Pinnacle Promenade — billed previously as a 300,000-SF shopping and dining mecca for the well-do-do. But the project, originally priced at a $50 million investment, has apparently grown in size and scope and will exceed figures in published reports.

Other chain names, such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrum, have also been bandied about, but the speculations are all as shaky as a Madison County hillside.
