Welcome to NWA! and its co-owner Theresa Thompson are in the business of connecting Northwest Arkansas newcomers with trustworthy and efficient local businesses and services. Thompson said she will connect a newcomer with anything from a hair stylist to a trusty plumber.

Welcome to NWA! owners said they offer those new to the area and existing businesses a Web-based resource unlike anything else offered in the region.

The site has more than 500 category listings that serve as an abundant resource center for any type of service and merchant. The site also contains a business consultant link that provides contact and product information on software products such as Quickbooks and other information technology needs.

Thompson teamed with her daughter, Brynn Thompson. They operate out of the mother’s home in Springdale. The pair also offer personalized driving tour-guide services throughout Northwest Arkansas. Tours are designed to highlight the charm and culture of businesses and attractions in the area.

Welcome to NWA! also provides a roundtable networking service for local businesses. Theresa Thompson calls the business interactions “Business 4 Business” and brings complementary businesses together to share ideas and resources.

Thompson has put together a social network to give her business a personal touch. “Family Gatherings” and “Expi-Date” services are designed for new families and singles in the area to connect with other newcomers.

Thompson hopes that in her business venture she will be able to connect more residents to the downtown and historic districts of Northwest Arkansas.

Thompson financed Welcome to NWA! personally and declined to disclose her startup costs.
